CALPERS Headquarters
Sacramento, CA
This LEED certified silver rated project is comprised of approximately 2.5 acres of on-structure landscaped courtyards and roof terraces for the new California Public Employee Retirement System Headquarters building. The design architects, Pickard/Chilton and the landscape architect Christian Lemon collaborated on the inspiration for the landscape: the natural and cultural influences that have shaped the rich history of Sacramento and its surroundings. These references were made using cherry trees, birch groves and large shade trees that continue the vernacular civic language of the streets of Sacramento.
