The Nasher Sculpture Center is a pavilion in a park, consisting almost entirely of a large sculpture garden in the center of the downtown Dallas Arts District.  The building, designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, and the garden, designed by Jennifer Brooke for Peter Walker and Partners, Berkeley, CA,  were designed to work together and reflect the influence of an early project visit to the Kimball Museum, also in Texas.

 

The challenge of the garden was to seamlessly integrate the changing display of sculptures, security and the idiosyncrasies of the Dallas climate and landscape. The garden is home to one of the most outstanding collections of Post-WW II sculpture in the world and the garden is one of the main attractions of downtown Dallas today.
