This couple's home was in the midst of a sizeable interior renovation, and the landscape needed to be updated to match the goals of the overall project, which included creating a collection of opportunities for spending quality time with their young family and their friends.

LEMON BROOKE designed a comfortable outdoor environment that includes a swimming pool that emerges just a few feet from the adjacent lawn and a hot tub at the terrace level, surrounded by a seat-height stone wall. A covered, outdoor kitchen and bar opens the door to entertaining larger groups of guests across the bluestone patio.  Reorganizing the hardscape not only accommodated the gently sloping site with graceful stairs between levels, but made room for a firepit to gather around on chilly evenings. Gravel and stone pathways make moving around the property slightly more formal, but not stuffy, bringing color and privacy to the space with careful plantings. Lighting and storage round out the amenities that make the space a perfect retreat for a warm summer weekend with friends.
